Wardrobe Wednesday No. 3

I am permitted to share this photo here in my site.

I am back in Wardrobe Wednesday again. I am inspired today upon seeing my friend's picture (the photo above) in her Facebook account. In the picture she is wearing a native hat which she gracefully sported on this year's Sinulog Festival in Cebu. She put it brilliantly together with her floral bag and pink pouch.

Do you have a new and old wardrobe? Wear it and take a shot or shot somebody who look good or funny in their wardrobe and share it at Wardrobe Wednesday. Join this meme by clicking on this badge above.

GT: Inside My Brown Bag

It is time for Girls Talk again. This time, we will be showing the stuffs inside our bag. I have this big brown bag for almost three years now which is my favorite bag and is what I usually use when I go to visit my parents in my hometown. I already mentioned in this blog before the cost of the bag. It is not as expensive as you think for this only cost 350 pesos. So what's inside this cheap bag? I got few if excluding the clothes I would  bring with me in visiting my parents.
Stuffs inside my bag are my kikay kit (stuffs inside were shown in my previous post for the previous GT topic), my wallet, my almost consumed DnG light blue scent and the back-up scent, ever belina's lover's delight. I usually hold my phone when on the trip for easy texting.

It is said that there will be a serious competition between her and Rachel Berry. Well, I already love and adore Rachel and of course I am quite a fan of Charice's magical voice. OXIS International on Oxidative Stress

What is oxidative stress? Oxidative stress is a serious imbalance between the excessive production of free radicals or highly reactive oxygen species and the deficiency of our body’s natural system's ability to work against and detoxify the reactive formation of oxidizing agents. In short, oxidative stress occurs when oxidants production exceeds anti-oxidant capacity.

Free radicals are natural produce in our body and form as the by-product of normal oxygen metabolism which have important roles in cell signaling but the dramatic increase of these can cause a quick build-up of diseases in our bodies such as heart disease, arthritis, lung disease, cancer, fibromyalgia, diabetes, neurodegenerative diseases, autoimmune diseases and eye diseases.

To reduce the amount of free radicals in our system, we need antioxidants. When it comes to antioxidant, OXIS International is the answer. OXIS International is engaged in research, development, and sale of products to fight against oxidative stress and diseases treatments. They are focused on using natural ingredients in every product that are believed to be protective and beneficial on human like the therapeutic compounds and clinical products. They are recognized as the premier nutraceutical provider for effective and powerful antioxidant which is Ergothioneine, their key component. Ergothioneine is a very powerful, multifaceted, naturally occurring antioxidant which commonly be found in different species of mushrooms and grapes, meats and dairy products. Check out Oxis on facebook to know more about their products.

GT: Inside My Wallet

I almost forgot the GT topic today for I almost forgot it's Thursday. Today in Girls Talk, the girl are showing their wallet and the stuffs inside their wallet. So, here is mine:
I have men's wallet and I have been using this for almost 3 years now. This has no brand name and cost only 150 pesos. This is kinda' durable to serve me that long. So what's inside my wallet? I only got few stuffs here: my old ABC school id, infolinks prepaid debit card, my driver's license (if you notice my name is misspelled-they suck), my Pagcor privilege card, and some other cards. Oh, my wallet has no money inside when I took picture of it. Poor wallet. Lol!

Neon Blue Nail Polish with Glitters

Just thought of sharing my nail paint I was wearing a week before last week. I forgot the polish brand but I remember the color. It is neon blue. The manicurist or the person who did my nails was the one who chose this color saying this will look great on my nails. Well, I love the color and it does look good on my nails especially when she added yellow glitters on it. I hope people didn't think of me having a blue heart.

Scarf Colors & Prints For Men

Scarves that men wear strongly speak of their character and personality, as well as of their sense of fashion.  Unlike women who tend to be more intricate and elaborate, men love to look simple, masculine, and stunningly smart.  Here are great colors and prints for mens scarves that will make you look more fashionable with any outfit you wear:

Solid colors
Most men go for solid and strong colors that are simple yet masculine, such as black, brown, blue, and even burgundy scarves.  A black scarf can actually fit any top, but looks perfect on light-colored and black tops.  A brown scarf is great for earth-colored outfits, such as flesh or khaki tops and dark brown pants.  Your blue scarf can match with a light-colored top, especially white, and your dark blue jeans.  A burgundy scarf can also look gorgeous with your lighter-shade-of-red top or white undershirt and burgundy jacket.

Neutral colors
Solid neutral colors like white, camel, and gray are classic color favorites when it comes to men’s scarves.  Aside from being simple and smart, these colors are sure to look relaxing and warm on men’s clothes.  White scarves look great on solid tops like black or brown or even on light colored shirts, especially printed shirts.  Camel-colored scarves always look smart and they fantastically match with dark shirts, most especially black or brown.  Gray scarves also fit perfectly with your plain or printed black or white shirts.

Striped and Checkered
Other equally fashionable and stunning scarves you can wear are striped and checkered scarves.  The colors that look great with men on these prints are combinations of black, gray, white, blue, camel, brown, and burgundy.  You can choose from stripes of black and white, black and brown, black and burgundy, brown and white, or brown and camel.  You can also go for a combination of more than two colors like black, gray, and white or black, blue, and white.  Other great-looking scarves are two-toned scarves like black and gray or dark blue and lighter shade of blue to give life to your plain shirt or jacket.

2 Ways of Reaching Weight Loss Goal

Keep track of your weight loss progress
Oftentimes, you may feel disappointed realizing that your weight has remained the same even with your constant and regular exercise program. It is helpful to follow any improvement on your weight. This is possible by:
  • tracking your body fat percentage - if you track your body fat, you will understand further the extent of the need to shed of fat from your body to lose weight. It can happen that your scale weight is the same even when you already have slimmed down. This is especially true when your gaining muscle as you lose your body fat.
  • using the scale - using a scale is the least on the list when wanting to determine any progress in your body weight. It measures basically everything from bones, muscle, fat, organs to even your water intake. It does not help you determine on the ones you have lost or gained during your weight loss program. It may not be as popular as the other tool in tracking your weight, but it can be used effectively when combined with your body fat percentage.
  •  taking your measurements -  this does not require any complicated equipment at all. This will aid you in identifying which parts of your body is losing fat. You should measure your chest, waist, bust, hips, waist, upper arm, calves, and forearm.
  • assess how you look - this is, of course, the simplest. Take a look at yourself in the mirror and see how you look. You can even take a photo of yourself once a month and compare these photos. Find out if there are any changes, whether you look slimmer or heavier.

Set a realistic goal weight
First things first, set a weight loss goal that is absolutely realistic. Work on a goal weight that is achievable so as not to end up being frustrated. Ultimately, your goal should be a healthy weight. So, consult your doctor first. Realistic goal is positive, precise, prioritized, planned and performance-based. Along with setting a realistic goal weight, you also need to consider these two:
  • BMI or body mass index -  it is important to consider your BMI in setting your goal weight since it helps your doctor in determining any risks on any weight related health issues. Your body mass index or BMI is derived by dividing your weight (in pounds) by your height (in inches squared)., and multiplying it by 705.
  • WHR or waist-to-hip ratio - your waist-to-hip ratio is also usually considered by your doctor. You can calculate it by taking the circumference of your waist and dividing it by the circumference of your hip using a tape measure. Women with ratios higher than 0.85 and men with ratios higher than 0.09 are likely to develop cardiovascular diseases.
It is best to note that an exercise program along with a healthy diet are necessary in achieving the body weight you always wanted to have. Just make sure you choose the ones that fit you right. Always remember that a surgery is not always the solution for a leaner body. If you plan to go on a diet, be sure to read books to thoroughly increase your awareness and knowledge. Reading the every other day diet ebook might be of help to you too.

GT: My Shower Loot

It was sad when our GT host, sis Niko announced the end of Girl Talk but when I checked on the topic today, she made a great comeback. Thanks goodness! Now we can continue the girls fun at Girls Talk!

Today at Girls Talk! we will be showing the stuffs inside our shower loot. So, here is mine:
  1. Magical glutathione whitening soap cut into halves. I used it as everyday body soap.
  2. Very Sexy for him all over body wash. That's hubby's but I use it too. I used it before the body soap.
  3. Foot works by Avon for removing rough skin.
  4. Woman by Lactacyd. That is, of course, for the delicate and intimate area.

Now for my major concern which is my hair:
  1. Sunsilk (green) strengthening shampoo  for dry and damaged hair and Sunsilk (pink) smooth and manageable shampoo with creamy yogurt energizers. I use these two alternately.
  2.  Hot Oil Treatment Mentholated Cream by swallow. I apply it on my hair wrapped with towel for 10 minutes after applying shampoo.
  3. Kolours hair blackening shampoo. I use this only once a week to get rid of my natural hair color which is dark brown.
  4. Cream silk conditioner - my favorite conditioner of all time. I use it when I have something to do outside the house like meeting or hanging out with friends, dining out with my dear hubby, going to the grocery, school, etc. and paying our bills.
  5. Last but not least, please don't laugh. This is actually my major, tough (or whatever you call it) hair secret - Mane and Tale conditioner. It helps my hair thicken and healthier + smoother. What I hate about this conditioner though is the smell.  I usually use this for a night bath or when I have no reason to go out the house.

So there you have it! Have a happy Girls Talk everyone. If you want to join this meme, simply click on the badge above and share us your girl story.
